Help Request: Anyone got a copy of rontokyo's "Sam the Sham" comp CD from the old forum??

I've found the files in question! Apologies to any and all who may have been inconvenienced digging thru files on hand trying to find the SamSham CD tracks. Once I've got the chance to do a bit more work on the thing I'll upload the files and post a link for anyone interested. Thanks again to...

Help Request: Anyone got a copy of rontokyo's "Sam the Sham" comp CD from the old forum??

Wish I could have heard that stuff. Granted, a good 2/3 of what was released at the time is novelty dreck, but as the Wolly Bully flip ["Ain't Gonna Move"] proves, they were a pretty tough outfit with a TexMex edge.

Help Request: Anyone got a copy of rontokyo's "Sam the Sham" comp CD from the old forum??

Thanks for replying, but sadly, that's not it. My comp was titled "Sam the Sham & the Pharoahs: Sam Weren't No Sham." Again, much appreciated that you tried. Using your "directory lister" software, you might for the heck of it try searching for "Ain't Gonna Move" or "Big City Lights." Should...

Help Request: Anyone got a copy of rontokyo's "Sam the Sham" comp CD from the old forum??

Rontokyo himself hoping some current forum member has a copy of the Sam the Sham comp I put together many moons ago in the old forum. I'm unable to locate my copy and the original files are long gone . . . so I've come to you all in hopes that someone may have one of the copies I sent out. I...

    The Lost Fine Gospel Tapes

I'm ashamed that I hadn't visited this sub-forum until now. What a fabulous collection. Thanks to both Misters Hogwash and Bosshoss for the tip.

bosshoss Gospel Flac Attack from years ago : A Question

Thank you both for clearing that up. It's been so long that I'd forgotten the specifics. This is the first I've seen of the jacket -- thanks for posting it. It now resides in the Gospel Flack Attack folder, where it's been MIA for many years.

bosshoss Gospel Flac Attack from years ago : A Question

The current G45 Requests thread got me to dig back into time and listen to earlier offerings. This folder, that I'd titled "Bosshoss Gospel Flac Attack" actually contains 25 .mp3 files of fairly obscure gospel tracks. Most of the vinyl is seriously distressed so there's little of the eye-opening...

Recent Crypt Digipak BFTG Reissues: Is There A Problem w/ the Treble?

That's it, my friend. I get your loyalty to TW and others, but you haven't understood anything that I've written so far. Post if you like, but this will be the last time I reply.

Recent Crypt Digipak BFTG Reissues: Is There A Problem w/ the Treble?

I didn't start this thread to prove a point but rather get other members' opinions. In fact, I sent you a PM in hopes we could share our thoughts privately, but you never replied.

Recent Crypt Digipak BFTG Reissues: Is There A Problem w/ the Treble?

Chill, my friend. If you read the first post in this thread you'd note I stated my admiration for all TW has done at Crypt. And yes, I'm aware of all the hard work hunting down and releasing this material requires. But whereas "Tim is the king of this shit," everyone makes mistakes and I'm...

Recent Crypt Digipak BFTG Reissues: Is There A Problem w/ the Treble?

You're referring to the Digipak remaster? Crypt-003? If so, you and I hear music very differently, I'm afraid. Whereas this track isn't as problematic as so many others are, the top-end is nevertheless the victim of needle-like brightness [for lack of a better descriptor]. And the song itself...

Recent Crypt Digipak BFTG Reissues: Is There A Problem w/ the Treble?

As MTM pointed out, different copies were sourced for each BFTG edition, so no point comparing in terms of mastering. But that said, the early edition has no top-end at all while the Digipak version does -- in spades. The highs are extended much too much, unnaturally so. As a result, the...

    Problems posting on G45central

Here's the link: https://support.apple.com/downloads/safari Explorer works on this site, but I am unable to quote a post in the reply. Safari 5.1.7 allows for all editing/posting options. As it's old and may have security issues, I maybe wouldn't recommend using it as your main browser.

Recent Crypt Digipak BFTG Reissues: Is There A Problem w/ the Treble?

You and me both. The glowing reviews on that thread encouraged me to buy the complete set, replacing the vinyl and original CDs. The first one to arrive was Volume 7. I became aware that something was wrong with the very first track. Hoping that Volume 7 was somehow an anomaly, I unsealed Volume...
