The year started out with me picking up the odd Australian or Singapore classic LP or 45 here and there, and I expected that to be it. But then an Aussie dealer suddenly had a huge swag of great discs for sale. I was outbid on a lot of the really great ones, but scored some excellent ones...

And now it's RIP George's childhood home. The bastards. I've been meaning to visit the site for years if I was ever in Sydney...

I far and away prefer the unreleased version. But it would sit much better in something like Frolic Diner or Las Vegas Grind than a garage punk compilation

I am surprised nobody posted this yet. Shel Talmy, the producer of the early great records by The Who and The Kinks died on 13 November aged 87. He also produced 'Friday On My Mind' for The Easybeats, the song that broke them internationally. And lots of other stuff, even The Damned...
