IT'S A HARD 'N HEAVY 7TS INDONESIAN ROCK FEST. I wasn't gonna rock today but Indonesia's been calling me today so here we go.

AKA. Hard Beat (1971-1975) killer comp of most of the English vocal tracks from their 6 albums. Killer hard psychish rock with a couple of super heavy funk rockers thrown in for good measure. If you could only have one band from this part of the world, AKA would be it.

BENNY SOEBARDJA & LIZARD (1975-1978) All 3 of his 1st lps on 2 discs. Master tapes are lost but mint cassettes were used to create this killer 2 cd set. Do yourself a big favor and seek this one out. Not really heavy but always psychy and trippy and with awesome vocals and toytown keys. UPDATE: I just hit shot no. 4 and I've decided that this in one'a the sleeper comps of all-times. I've provided YouTube links but I'm sure they're not all there but this my fave collection in the whole world right now! GO BUY IT ON DISCOGS AND HAVE YOUR LIFE ALTERED.

ARIESTA IRAWA GROUP (1973) Their lone album, kinda poppy with cool cheesey keyboards with occasional sweet guitars. Don't try to find an original, cause you won't.

THOSE SHOCKING SHAKING DAYS. Indonesian hard 'n heavy comp with 20 different hard rock bands (1970-1978) comes with thick 62 page booklet with scads of info and killer label shots of insanely rare 45s.

Anyone here dig obscure Rock from Indonesia as much as I do.

Here's one for you.

Bob Tutupoly and the Echos - Stone Free

The Lonely One

Wasted Word

Stone Free is such fun, you can hear them suffer through the cords and it's very brave and admirable for them to cover this song. The surprise for me however was their cover of the Motions' Wasted Words a hit in Holland.
