Charleston Gazette WV Bands

[Hicksville Hogwash]

Found these while rummage the collection at work. Most are marked with a Charleston Gazette (WV) stamp. Some are unmarked so are mystery bands and may not even be garage but look cool enough.



This one is marked Checkmate I'd guess it should be "The Checkmates." OK I used my brains and 1968 the Charleston Daily Mail did run an ad for new recording group "The Checkmates" anyone know of a real recording?



Unknown. Nice Hillbilly outdoor concert though.
