Leapy Lee - "King of the Whole Wide World". Listening to Leapy's version (apparently he was a good friend of Mr. R. Davies back in the day which is how he came to record this little gem) it doesn't take too much imagination to hear what it would have sounded in The Kinks' hands. If I am not mistaken this was recorded around the time they were doing the Face to Face album.

And while we're on the subject of unreleased Kinks song, here's another - "Oh What A Day It's Going to Be" by Mo & Steve. Sounds like it's from around the same time.

Sounds like it might have been written for The Kinks Kontroversy but deemed surplus to requirements.

Here's another Ray Davies song that, to my best knowledge, was not recorded by the Kinks. Not even a Ray demo of this has turned up. Apparently The Kinks are the backing band on this one. This one has been added to my want list!
