I went home with a Doug Kershaw 45 - Louisiana Sun on CREOLE 1001. The next release on the label is Clock Work Orange's - Golden Touch, which he produced and wrote the flip - Do Me Right Now (apparently in the car going to the studio according to Clock Work Orange member). I just googled my way into an earlier? version by Doug and Rusty?

Then I found a Rusty Kershaw version from 1970 that credits Rusty as writer?!?! Were the Brothers - Rusty and Doug ripping each other off? 🙄

I know The Newbeats and Tremeloes did Doug Kershaw's - Shake Hands (Come out Crying) which I like a lot, well the Newbeats version.

Does anyone know of any more Doug Kershaw (or are they Rusty's?) songs done in a garage teenbeat type styling?

Seen Doug Kershaw in the early 70's at The Felt Forum, NYC. Lynn Anderson opened the show. Doug came on after her. Absolute Mayhem... he had the fiddle tucked into his lower shoulder sawing away like he was trying to cut it in half. Jumping into the air...all that and more. Lynn's people weren't expecting this kind of excitement... some shuffled out in the front rows... which was all the better for me and my cohorts. We gained better seating. And Kershaw was driven. A very impressive show.
