Fabulous Fakes

I know the Fabulous Fakes recorded/released a 'Mickey's Monkey' / 'No Excess Baggage' 45 on Columbia. The band has informed me they recorded at least three singles. Does anybody know of other 45 releases? Thanks.

Perhaps the songs were released under pseudonyms or different group monikers. I've never seen any other Fabulous Fakes 45s.

IIRC this band was formed mainly to promote fake fingernails (hence the name) and the girl member (Vicki Spencer?) was the 'face' of the group. I think that some of the members were in another band before they were 'assembled' (the Bad Seeds on Columbia?) - maybe that's the source of the records.
So....anyone prefer their version of "No Excess Baggage" to the Yardbirds?

They had their gestationin in The Rotten Kids and later morphed into The Bubble Gum Machine and, you're right...there is also a Bad Seeds connection. Vicki and her two brothers were the core of these groups.

I have to be honest...I haven't heard the Yardbirds' version...but I think the Fakes' version is solid.
