First time selling vinyl (a 78) on line

I realize that this may not be the place to ask, but this is the only forum I belong to.

I found a rare 78 and plan on selling this on line.

I've never sold anything on line before and want to make sure that the buyer is satisfied with packing, shipping etc...

Any tips on how to pack a 78 rpm record?

The value is around $300 - $500. Do I also provide insurance?

Also, is there a good method to cleaning up a 78?

Is it best to sell in discog or ebay?

This avenue is totally new to me and any tips would be appreciated.

For anyone curious, I scored a Hank Williams 78 on the sterling label. I bought about 15 78's at 50 cents a piece. All country related.

If anyone reading can steer me in the right direction, it's appreciated.

eBay better than discogs, where I do occasionally sell a 78, but they'll mostly sit. For packing, this is the standard method:

And condition is more important to value than you'll see with vinyl records. Something that's $500 in E+ might be $50 in V, if that. Collectors pay serious premiums for stuff in impossibly perfect condition. The notable exceptions are when the only known copy of a good blues 78 shows up and it's a beater, it can still be 4 figures.

Back in 1988, I tried this. Luckily, it was an Andrews Sister's 78. It'll wipe those groves right off the platter.
