Frogs - Live 1967

Hard to believe things like this keep turning up, especially in this quality. It's an R&B set--not garage--but of course these are the cover songs most groups performed back then.

wow, they won? I'd hate to hear the losers. Not all was good in the 60s. Sorry, but that was kinda painful. Cool logo though.

How on earth did you find this? It's buried pretty deep. Eh, not great or anything but still fun to see. I looked thru the posters' other videos and it looks like they have archives of this show going back at least to 1959 with some shakey kinescopes. Wonder if they still have the Peg Leg Bates portion from that year? Or the 66 battle of the bands winner?

Hard to say the Frogs were lame, only in retrospective opinion which doesn't count.
People who think the USA was crawling with Chocolate Watchband wanna-be's during the mid-late '60s are delusional.
This footage is the typical teen scene, groups you would have gone to see or danced to.
Nobody watching or in the crowd was judging or listening for an original song, banshee scream or fuzztone guitar break.
Everyone wanted to hear FAMILIAR songs.
And the playback setups were usually lousy making it difficult to really hear the whole group - especially with television performances.

Cool...When you find the footage of the Frogs filmed under great conditions, let me know so I can hopefully enjoy it. Until then, the footage we have may be typical but I could never watch it twice.
