Hi gang,
A handful of 45s up for grabs to kick off 2016. They are in my way, need 2 make room
Can't believe I've been collecting these things since 1976!
Strict grading. Paypal only.
Postage USA - 1st class = $6
International first class one 45 = $15, two 45s $24
PM only gets first dibs!
BAYTOVENS "Waiting For You" (Belfast) $sold
Super-clean VG+ just faint hairlines, plays VG++
The A side soft ballad plays worse with some distortion in louder parts as all copies do because of mastering defect.
A magic marker scribed small * mark & small name written on the A side label.
DEADBEATS "Hungry Monday" (Croquette) $sold VG++ plays M-,
New Hampshire '66 crude boogaloo-type beat workout. Underrated.
DETOURS "Peace Of Mind" / "Who Do You Love" (Atco) unplayed stock copy $15
However the pressing from Plastic Products results in noisy wax (especially if you listen thru headphones) so VG+ due to the pressing. Both sides are great, A side is Byrds-y psych, B side is based on the classic, but not a remake.
These guys are still unknown, having never been located - one of a few major label mysteries yet to be solved.
DION & the WANDERERS "Two Ton Feather" (Columbia DJ/ promo) VG++ $sold
light surface noise at start , w.o.l handwritten date + promo desgination doesn't obscure any label text - Tuff punky harp walin' r&b mover , with melancholy folk-pop B side. The best of the three Columbia 45s. See "Beyond Teenbeat Mayhem" honorable mentions.
FIFTH ESTATE "That's Love" (Jubilee) VG++ $sold
Extremely tuff to find, only issued on a stock pressing, the goofy pop "Do Drop Inn" A side is commonly found as a double sided promo. Easily (I think) the best track by the Fifth Estate - a killer Dovers / Byrds vibe hybrid.
NOMADS "Time Remains" (J&S) G (don't get scared ) - this shows lots of playwear, rub marks & hairline scuffs - no deep scratches. I'm sure some European dealers would overgrade this copy as VG....As worn as it looks "Time Remains" plays VG+! No clicks, no pops, just a bit of surface noise at start. B side ballad plays VG. 7.3 in TBM! $300
PALACE GUARD "All Night Long" (Orange-Empire) M- X on label $10
TWO HALVES "Golden Sands" (Batavia) VG+ $sold very slight dirt ringwear (a white label, red print)
scarce & great, crude fidelity low key folky jangle-riff beat with sublime harmonies - a duo with some group backing them up, seems to be a Rochester, NY area college crew according to copyright info.
VALKYRIES "Love You Like I Do" (Cori) looks VG+ plays w. slight surface noise $25
Great moody surf-vibe mover with DC5 type sax and trebly lead guitar break
