Hi all. Been lurking on here for a couple of years, and thought it was time I stuck my head above the parapet (please don't shoot just yet!). I'm based in UK, just North of London. I've been picking up garage/ psychedelic records since the early '80s. The eureka moment was when Bill Allerton played me the Acid Dreams comp when he first got it in his shop in Ladbrooke Grove. For years I was content with the various compilations which were finding their way over the pond, but as the years went by I started buying a few og 45s. Then the fever strikes and there's no way back. No need to tell you guys, I know.
I'm always amazed by the sheer depth of knowledge on G45, and also the willingness to share info. Speaking of which, hats off to MopTopMike for TBM. That alone is some legacy.
Hope I can contribute something of interest, I'm currently immersing myself in Nederbeat, and I've noticed it is an area which crops up on the forum occasionally.

Hi Alexander,

Enjoyed your recounting of your Eureka moment. Bill sure knew how to pick 'em. Acid Dreams certainly could serve as a catalyst towards leading one down the path. It was revelatory for me as well, though I'd already heard a number of other comps by the time I came across it. Or a version of it, I should say... there was an in depth discussion regarding it a while back on this forum. My copy has these labels, so it's certainly not an original 1st press. Sound is OK, happily the original 45's sound a bit better.IMG_6709.JPGIMG_6710.JPG
