Rontokyo himself hoping some current forum member has a copy of the Sam the Sham comp I put together many moons ago in the old forum. I'm unable to locate my copy and the original files are long gone . . . so I've come to you all in hopes that someone may have one of the copies I sent out. I used all mono mixes from LPs and 45s I'd sourced over the years and now, as I no longer have a turntable [!?!] I'm unable to recreate the comp. Sadly, all available Sam the Sham comps either don't have LP tracks or use stereo mixes. So . . . if by any chance anyone here has one, please post. Fingers crossed. Thanks in advance,

-- Ron

I remember you sharing this. Within my files, I have one that's titled "Ron's Garage." I'm not sure if this is yours or not.

I used a software program called "directory lister" to scan the contents within the folder. Let me know if this is yours and if so, I'll work on a way to upload to you.

*EDIT -- Naturally, I wouldn't want to violate any forum policies. If I'm on the boarder of doing so, feel free to delete my posting.

Thanks for replying, but sadly, that's not it. My comp was titled "Sam the Sham & the Pharoahs: Sam Weren't No Sham." Again, much appreciated that you tried.

Using your "directory lister" software, you might for the heck of it try searching for "Ain't Gonna Move" or "Big City Lights." Should those pop up, then you know you've got the comp I'm looking for.

The unreleased Sam The Sham stuff that Alec Palao played me is way better than most of what came out. Real gnarly versions of things like I’m Goin’ Upstairs. I guess the bootleggers overlooked it.

Wish I could have heard that stuff. Granted, a good 2/3 of what was released at the time is novelty dreck, but as the Wolly Bully flip ["Ain't Gonna Move"] proves, they were a pretty tough outfit with a TexMex edge.

I've found the files in question! Apologies to any and all who may have been inconvenienced digging thru files on hand trying to find the SamSham CD tracks. Once I've got the chance to do a bit more work on the thing I'll upload the files and post a link for anyone interested. Thanks again to those who tried to help out. Much appreciated.
