Very sad news indeed. A Giant in the Northwest music scene.

A true legend is gone. He's leaving a body of stellar teen beat recordings. the crazy thing is that he even recorded "modern" garage bands a couple of years back (i think the spaceshits and the raydios/ex-teengenerate, if i'm not mistaken). i wonder what kind of stuff from the 1960s is left behind on mastertapes and acetates.

I know Norton Records (and Ace, perhaps?) did several releases so I imagine they reissued the best of it. But who knows?

I think Light In The Attic has something coming out from Kearney's tapes as another Wheedle's Groove style set... the Shout, Shake etc. series probably took up the best unreleased rock stuff though. His equipment is scattered among various studios and people and some of it is still being used.
