I've always wondered if this was another Scoundrels $50 (or whatever they were paid per track) 'throwaway'. Or, it was another uncompleted song by another band (such as "Maybe" on the flip side of the Ohio Express "Beg Borrow and Steal"). The fact that they took writer credit is meaningless as to the origin of the song - they took the credits for "Maybe" which should have been Joe Walsh (he is credited on the OE Cameo LP, which has the finished recording called "I Find I Think Of You).

They all take from "the Work Song" by Nat Adderly, it was already a standard by 1966 (hit version by Herb Alpert that year, although I don't know if these recordings predate that or not).

I've discussed this before - the Ohio Express LP on Cameo has two songs (the one I mentioned and "And It's True") that were recorded by the Measles, a band from Kent, OH with Joe Walsh. This predates his joining the James Gang, of course. The songs were cut as demos for the K&K team sometime in early-mid 1966. The LP credits the true composers, Walsh and Measles band member Bobby Sepulveda. Dig the LP out and check it for yourself!

The Measles recordings never had a proper release.

So, did they recut the vocals for the Ohio Express LP, or is that the demo vocal that we hear on the LP? I'll dig it out. I remember there's a couple a Young Rascals type cuts on there that I always really liked.
