Ok....please keep in mind that I've not been "edumacated" in this topic. Can anyone explain to me where the term "Northern Soul" comes from and/or what it defines, just to make it a little clearer for my curiosity.
My 2nd query is that it seems that there is quite a huge interest in these 45's and people seem to pay pretty big bucks for some of them.
Are these types of records comped in the same fashion as all the great comps over the years for 60's garage?
Would the kind of music that Arthur Alexander made or maybe a group like the Van Dyks be considered Northern Soul? To me this would seem like pretty straight R&B.
I really don't know much about this genre of records, but I am curious.
Thanks in advance for any explanations!
Cheers!
