Pebble Episode Tripsy

I picked up a copy of the Pebble Episode doing Tripsy and it had groove wear and distortion. Then I heard a VG+ copy of the same record, but with the Vince Oddo label that had been applied by mistake to many copies, and it also had distortion. Is this typical of this pressing, or do I just need to find a mint copy? Were there two separate pressings or two sets of labels on the same pressing?

I have a vg(+) copy of the Vincent Oddo variation and it plays with no distortion at all. Sorry.
