I came across these last night. Some enterprising soul has done a revamped International Pebbles series. I used the link from CD Universe so you can easily see all the volumes but they are available through Amazon. These are digital only comps, I have no idea who did them but am digging listening to them for free on Spotify. The quality is good considering! I am still a sucker for physical, if these were real cds I would buy them. Indonesia, Iran, Thailand, Argentina, Cambodia, Spain, Iran, Mexico, Africa, etc. Tons of tracks I have never heard.

Does anybody know anything about these?

Thanks for pointing these out Derf. They look to be really poorly done compilations of previously unauthorised compilations.

I looked at the Singapore and Indonesia ones because I am most familiar with that music and there are lots of problems with both of them, such as song titles and artist names recorded incorrectly. Furthermore, on the Singapore comp there is one track from Thailand, one from Hong Kong, one from Vietnam and a couple from the Peels, who were Indonesian. The Peels tracks were probably recorded in Singapore, but the others weren't. On the Indonesia comp there are a number of tracks from Adnan Othman and one by the Hooks, both Malaysians, and one by the Rolling Beats, who had an Indonesian background, but were from the Netherlands.

I can't make out who is on the cover of the Singapore comp, but the two artists on the cover of the Indonesia comp (Benny Soebardja from the 1970s and the Steps) do not appear on the album. On the cover of the international comp is a photo of Singaporean A. Ramlie who doesn't appear on the album, but there are Indonesian and Singaporean artists there who could have been included on the other comps.

Finally, the Thailand Pt 1 comp has a photograph of Dara Puspita, who are pretty well-known these days as one of Indonesia's most famous 1960s bands.

What a load of rubbish. Listen for free if so inclined, but don't give these rip-off merchants one cent

Yeah dig, I would never pay for a downloaded MP3. That being said these are pretty fun to listen to for free! The sound quality is pretty good considering and there are tons of tracks I have never heard.
