I'm no expert and I know many '70s fanzines were photocopied and stapled kind of crudely on the side or at the top left corner... but my Bomp #12 is saddle stapled and printed, and I'm fairly sure #7 was also saddle stapled for that one special issue. But this seller says they came from the Bomp warehouse... maybe they were Greg's own reference copies or 'ashcan' pre-press copies?

Doesn't look like people are too interested in his rare Bomps in any case, guess they probably have some old ones too and figured there is something different about them.

These look very crude. I'd guess photocopied much later for some reason, maybe without any intent to deceive. However, the seller's statement:
I hear that these issues are so RARE that they are in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

destroys his credibility.

This original is stapled along the spine. Leading me to suspect (well, KNOW) that the fuzzy & indistinct appearing issue on offer on ebay is a later photocopy. Or at least not from the same run as this example.

Earlier issues, such as the copy to left in this pic were stapled along the front. Not so the two on offer by the :
take your pick of either the -->
1) woefully uninformed dealer
or
2) devious scamster.

Thanks for the photos of #7! It could be that the photocopies this seller has are actually somewhat old themselves, but Greg Shaw having come out of sf fandom would most likely have used gestetner or mimeograph or something other than a photocopier back then as they were pretty poor quality in the early '70s.

I may have a few of these in my stash of vintage mags from the mid '70s era. If anyone really cares, PM me and I will dig em up in the near future for ya. I believe I saved them as the classifieds had some stuff really cheap in those days.
