Hi Michael,

Get Records and Forever Changes are closed - Concerto is a nice shop with a great collection new and second hand cd's and lp's.
I'll ask a friend from Amsterdam for more tips.

Hi AZ54

thanks a lot for your info so I won't waste time (I've got just 2 day in A'dam), more tips from your friend would be very helpful
During my trip, I'll ride the train to Utrecht to visit the Da Capo-shop which has a pretty good collection

have a nice day and ciao from Milano!

Da Capo is open on thursday, friday and saturday from 11 till 6 - with every day new material from Michel's stock.
It's a great way to support Michel's wife.
While in Utrecht you may also visit Plato - a partner shop of Concerto.

Groetjes,

Hi AZ54
I just got a mail from Michel's wife who confirmed that Da Capo will be opend like you indicated (hope the Beat-Cave will be opened, too)
Thanks for the Plato-hint, of the other Utrecht shops I just knew Grammophoonwinkel (which is hardly worth a visit).
It's be great to get the info on the Adam-shops from your friend...

have a nice day
M
PS. right after my trip, I'll prepare a "Uncomped Nederland"-sequel for download, I'll let you kow

WOW!!!....heaps of unheared Nederbeat-tracks indeed, like the fab Goldstar Brothers, both Rene & Alligators' tracks, and the Sound Specials/What Do You Say.... this means: I'll have to redo my homework, and most probably my uncomped Nederbeat set will become a double-CD.. great site, thanks a lot Mr. Splendid

groetjes from Milano

PS any info on garageplatje-winkels in Adam?

Regretfully no reaction from my friends, who are busy with a festival on the island of Vlieland.

just coming back from my Holland-trip.... had a great time, splendid weather, deliciously hot (Indian) food, and, as usual, outstanding, free-thinking, easy goin' Dutch people; I really love'em!

In A'dam, I found some goodies at the Waterloopleinmarkt (flea-market), Record Friend has a nice collection but´prices are slightly to high, same goes for Amstel Antiques (who has also a boot at the flea-market)

Best shop is, as always, Da Capo in Utrecht, hugh collection of rare garage-comps (all in all, I bought 7 LPs and 4 CDs, plus some nice 45s (for 1 - 3 €), instead of 150+ I payed only 130 €, nice guys!

some bargains at Plato-Records

best finds: comps What's The Use - New England Teen Scene 3 - Chops Suey Rock - Jugobeat Explosion - Beat met een zachte G (don't trust L Bigot's bad critics at SfS) and: A Psychedelic Six-Pack of Sounds!

thanks to everybody who helped me with info!
