RIP Bert Weedon

Bert Weedon passed away late last week. His "Play In A Day" manual made him a folk hero in the UK, think of him as the UK version of Mel Bay. No doubt many aspiring teens consumed Mr. Weedon's book on their way to launching the guitar driven British Invasion.

There is a big article on Bert Weedon in the new Vintage Rock magazine. That's one thing I really like about it; the coverage of old U.K. things people missed completely over here... now if only they'll do a cover feature on the great Sooty and Harry Corbett! Sooty was the Hendrix of the toy xylophone man, a nascent punk! :)
