Fellow record collector and good friend, Brian Marshall, passed away over the weekend. He was just 50 years old.
I'm not sure if Brian was ever a member here but he used to post regularly over at the old garagepunk forums under the name noisejunkie. You may also know him from his 90's - early 00's print zine, Noises From The Garage.
By the time I started my blog back in 2005, Brian was no longer doing his zine and he was the guy I wanted to help me out. We had loads of fun writing about and reviewing 45s until the blog sort of ran its course in 2011.
No longer being an Indianapolis resident, I only got to visit with him periodically. The last time was in May of last year. He seemed really appreciative, as I don't think a lot of folks stopped by to see him.
He was diagnosed with prostate cancer just a couple of months ago and was treating for it but the cancer was too advanced for the treatments to help.
He will be missed.
