some info on Frantic & Vardan record labels

Wrote an article about the cache of tapes & records I found last year. All tapes are with Alec Palao now.

cool info. One thing you may add. I talked to Arvey Andrews' son years ago (also in the air force) and he told me that they moved to Alaska after Northern Ca. to another Air Base (not sure which one) And they took 1000s of records, tapes & memorabilia with them and had them stored in the basement of their home. When they moved back to the states a few years later they left everything in the basement and who knows whatever happened to them. Also, George Martin (another co-owner) had 1000s of records, masters & memorabilia in his sisters shed in Linda, Calif. and everything got wiped out in the great flood of 1986. https://www.kcra.com/article/30-years-ago-levee-break-floods-linda-ca/6251083

I’ll be including several unreleased Boy Blues and Psycho songs on the vinyl edition of Up From The Grave, as well as upgrading sound on some of the other tracks. Alec played them to me and they are great. Bummer on the unreleased Drusalee though, a weak version of the T-Bones Granny Goose chip ad. I have to get a few cds out 1st so at least a year away. It'll be the 1st LP release on Frantic. Then probably a few of the rarer Ikon's on 45.

I've heard the stories of the flood & the tapes left in the basement. Very sad that such a great recorded legacy got lost.

The handful of tapes I found (on the east coast!) are possibly the only Frantic & Vardan tapes in existence.
