Suppose I give a blog and no one comes

Dammit, I just found Expo's blog. Lovely reading.
Shouldn't we all who have blogs 'n shit just do something together? Can you do that?
I can buy a domain if anyone is interested.
See, all I have is my undying interest. But I am short of info, pics and brains.

Orrr, come to think of it, my girlfriend is helping out to design this site that gathers a bunch of specified blogs. Lifestyle, design and shit.

Maybe we could replicate that concept.

Thoughts?

why don't you add your blog adress in your post signature, Lee? it may help guys like me whose bookmarks are a mess ;)
this forum is great at gathering information, but a website would be cool too
& maybe easier to use, especially for things such as 80s comps pics&tracklistings, vtg instrument ads, label scans, etc... I'd be happy to upload lyrics&tabs and the cover lists out of my cheap blog

You have a blog too? Link me! :)

Thank you for the compliment Lee de Parade. I started out back in 2007 after finding 'Garage Hangover'...
I persuaded myself to set up my own blog and write about records I've acquired over the years (which runs into many thousands)....I mainly concentrate on janglers, pop psych, 70s punk and 80s garage revival.

I'll only ever post label scans and sleeves in HI-res. You won't need a magnifying glass to see them.

Your blog has got off to a great start and your descriptions are a RAVE!.....

You should most definately write the liners for any 'pipedream' G45 comp that becomes a reality.

Thanks, guys!

MT, I was kinda asking for a link to your blog. But thanks for linking to mine. :D Need2read!

What I'd love, is if all you guys who write and/or upload pictures or collect videos or sell albums.. if we all could make something together - but individually.
To collect all information under one umbrella, and let the users get a comprehensible way to overview it.

It could also be a way for friends like Crypt Records or Bear Family to advertise their stuff - for free!

In a perfect world - imagine Patricks stuff, MTM's info, the Boss' flacs, garage hangover and all those blogs gathered and easy to check out. (with a somewhat unified design)
Like a living book!

I know - we are a bit backwards here. We like to sniff vinyl (I've even heard of people scraping off the edges and eating it) and we are not that into internet fancy schmantz.
But wouldn't it be cool?

I just added you to my fave list Lee, and Mike as well. My blog is all over the place subject-wise so no links in return required... I think if it was at all focused it would become like a job or something Bob Dobbs might frown upon! It did start out as a review of single sides I thought were cool but then I ran afoul of copyright patrollers just making rips from sometimes beat vinyl, and I said 'oh well'... then when geocities closed I moved some of my artist bios from that to the blog... then I started posting interesting things from '60s magazines, a few reviews of new releases, old kids tv I rediscovered... if it weren't for the silly name I wonder if anyone would look at the thing.

I need to finish a thing about Bill Cowsill for it before much longer though...

Blogs in general are virtually dead nowadays.
Few go near them prefering a picture and a couple of lines on Facebook.
It's easier to read on an iphone.

I wonder why Bear Family hasn't waded into the garage scene? Their That'll Flat Git It series of RAB stompers and howlers goes label by label (great sound for the first 20 or so, and they have good relations/access to the vaults of a lot of labels. It would be nice to see them go through the major labels' catalogs and do legit reissues.

i don't have the capacity to play an mP3pO other than a computer, but i listen to vinyl while i'm sitting here typing.

i've never downloaded a song. ever.

i have a lot of records, however.

to each their own. i like my vinyl.

excuse me, i have to go flip an album.
