the Avengers Mr. Genius qualify?

Thanks for your vote. I know that i've seen many records in TBm that have horns in them, so that should not be a good reason for not voting for it. I think it should be included even though the other side is a northern soul sound.

I did not know it either until i got a copy, but a look at collectorsfrenzy shows that one was sold April 2012 and was described as 'garage' then.

I guess we missed this one.
Personally, I can't hack the lounge at happy hour vocalist and the coronet / trumpet wankery. a horn section that plays in tune and provides some backbone sometimes works, but not in this situation. Maybe the horn player paid for the recording session? A potential 5 or 6 rated tune plummets to the lowest of lows.
Citing appropriate kudos to the great, late Billy Miller for his review of "Crying All Alone" as scribed in an issue of Kicks magazine: He bought the record without hearing it beforehand in the '70s and thought he scored a great garage disc while playing it, then along comes [his words] the Herb Alpert mouth weenie solo , ruining the tune.

For the purest collectors I guess that would be correct like having a sax break in a rockabilly recording. That was what most would hate to hear in a rockabilly 45 like Billy M. Like stated before that are other 45 in TBM with horns in them that were rated, so why not this one? I agree that the horns put a damper on the song for garage collectors, but I don't think it's that bad. However, that my opinion. :kool:
