The Deep

Same here. Not 'come across' but I have an orig. I traded a Tripsichord LP for The Deep AND Skip Spence - Oar, years ago. Still one of the best trades I've ever made :)
I do know someone here in Stockholm who found an original of The Deep for under $10 though, but that must be 20 years ago. She wasn't willing to part with it (I offered maybe a LOT more than $10, 15 years ago) because she thought "the sleeve was funny"
I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up in the garbage or at some attic...
The Radioactive vinyl boot looks and sounds good and as far as I know it's the only reissue that has the orig mix. Those Cicadelic/Collectables "reissues" has "remixed" versions that sound like total crap. No sound fx, tinny demo sound etc

What I really wonder: is there really a single aswell?!? I've heard something about a Deep 45 but that could just aswell be BS. Aslo I wouldn't mind finding the 45 that was supposedly released from the Freak Scene LP... never seen it though...

It's expensive, but a grand? Don't know really. People still pay more for the stereo than the mono though (as it's a 'psych LP' and therefore 'must be in stereo'?!?)
I have a mono original and I prefer that mix as it has more bottom and kick and sounds more 'live' and garagey. I have the re of the stereo and that's pretty cool aswell, but the soundscape is more or less regular '66 stereo, i.e. 100% panned out mono channels with a kinda 'empty sound' like the 1st Elevators LP.

The Fallout CD has both the stereo and mono mixes of the LP along with the Rusty Evans/Ry Cooper 45. Certainly the cheapest way to get 'em both at this point.

i have a mono copy. write me in two weeks & when i get home , i'll dig it up for you for a cdr copy. mine is mono
