The Fabulous Courdels = The Ingredients ?

Couldn't help but notice that the acetate by The Fabulous Courdels "And You Believe Him" on Unissued Garage Acetates #2 (and on a private Bosshoss comp before that I believe) sounds very similar to The Ingredients's song "Please Don't Leave Me" released on Toddlin' Town Records in 1967.

Both bands seem to be from Chicago so I wondered if they were related. A guy on discogs called Jim said he was the lead guitar player of the Ingredients. I exchanged a few words with him but he stop answering before he could tell me if he knew about The Fabulous Courdels. Any clue?

It seems obvious (to my ears) that it's the same singer, but the Ingredients version has backing vocals all the way. The Courdels have backing vocals in the chorus only (much better that way).

A couple of the guys (at least) were involved, seems the label folks changed Courdels to Ingredients.
They never performed as the Fabulous Courdels, that was only shown on the two different acetates they cut at MBS studios.

Thanks for the info! What is the second acetate? Any interesting stuff on it?
