Not that it would be of greater interest, I just wanted to delete this from another thread where I realized it was kind of outta place. (If anyone has any news or interesting information about the fabulous Knickerbockers this might be the place!):

Maybe the Knickerbockers are a bit too common for this forum, but I think they're really great. Starting as a good but not very original fratrock/beat-cover-band, but then evolving into a band with outstanding original material. Great songwriting and superb harmonies. I think "Stick With Us" is one hell of an album, but it didn't come out as such in the 60s, did it? "The Great Lost Knickerbockers Album" is equally superb. If you wish the Beatles to have a more edgy sound, the Knickerbockers are really the band to go for (apart from the Remains of course).

Just waving the flag, nothing else really,
A.

Axel, I completely agree with you. They are one of my favourite bands period. Not many 60s bands have such a long run of excellent 45s as The Knickerbockers. Must be 12 or 13 (my list not accessible right now)

Though obviously Beatles influenced, I don't care much for such comparisons as I think they tend to take some of the glory away from the band. And who listens to the Beatles anyway !

No YouTube access here at work, but currently both sides of this is my favourite
