A raw-nerved hybrid of elemental Merseybeat, lugubrious surf-noir and sheer sonic assault, the remarkable legacy of Long Island’s Mystic Tide has long been venerated within the ’60s garage rock pantheon, even if their existential racket only slipped out on a series of painfully rare 45s. Now, the fruit of Joe Docko Jr and friends’ cottage industry has been refurbished in best-ever sound, along with fresh insights as to how this singular brand of noise came to be.
Pre-order: Release date February 16, 2024. Begins shipping in late January.

Great! Although I've never thought of Mystic Tide as hybrid of elemental Merseybeat or lugubrious surf-noir it will be welcome to have this as a proper compilation release. They've even cracked the bank this time and included some linernotes!

what is this disc design supposed to be?

also, didn't Distortions already do this comp a while ago? not so sure the sound will even be better based on recent experience with Numero pressings. they used to be a cool label so its sad to see them devolve into a mass merchandising operation for indie kids
I know Alec Palao is involved with this, so you can be assured sound quality will be greatly improved.

"a while ago" as in: 30+ years, yes. And that RE has become scarce in itself.

Do you have any specific titles in mind where you have found the pressing/sound to be poor? In my experience the quality is consistently good, both in terms of sound and packaging.
"Mass merchandising operation for indie kids"? Please elaborate.
Oh, and complaining about coloured/splatter/crazy looking vinyl is *so* 2019...
