Unknown Acetate 45

Cool track. Has maybe a New York studio sound for me - Date Records, Distant Cousins etc - rather than a small label recording but that's just a hunch.

This is what the previous 45 looked like with the date of 8 1966.

Does anyone here use SoundCloud? They are now 'vetting' songs. It stated it usually takes 20 min. to 2 hours, but after 2 hours i logged out. It was ready the next day.

To me it has hints of "That's Not Me" by the Beach Boys, as well as Tommy James. I would rate it 4, and thanks to vinyl01 for sharing the acetate transfer.
I also have this version on Reel-to-reel with other tracks that did not make it to vinyl, but some that did. I think is take was the final version, but fell short for release whoever it is. Does anyone know why the artist/band names are not on these acetates and some are?

Studio group demos only perhaps. This has very much a Brill Building sound over it. Or even L.A./Spector crew typa sound.
I can imagine this could be a future girl group kinda song as well.

Great song and many thanks for posting vinyl01! Can't help thinking about a UK band this may be...

I've listened to this again (and again). With the right production and Mary Weiss singing, this would be massive

Maybe, I have an acetate of the Sawyer-Burton song of "I Ain't Gonna Eat Out My Heart Anymore" by them later released by the Young Rascals.
