which snipe service to use?

I've been using esnipe for years with no problems. I'm not sure about the pros or cons of any other services.

eSnipe for life. 100% reliable. It's like a brother to me.

My first two snipes made me a believer:

Dean Carter Sound 45 "Mary Sue/Wandering Soul" Won! 4777443281 $26.00 1 6 10/13/2005 17:45:05
Children of the Night Psych 45 "World of Tears" Won! 4777440852 $77.00 1 6 10/13/2005 17:35:10

My first esnipe bid was The Runaways "18th Floor Girl", and it was free because it was my first use of the service.

Been using esnipe all along. Never had a problem; every snipe has gone through.

First esnipe: Johnny Thompson Quintet "Color Me Columbus"
Second esnipe: Cynics "T0rain Kept a-Rollin"
Both free during the trial period - made me a believer, too.

Best esnipe: Graveyard 5

I've started using Gixen for a few months with no problems so far. It's free, but you can't easily keep an archive of old snipe bids. Their double-server backup is only $6 a year, which is cheap.

Rather than start a new thread, I'll post here:

The last three bids of mine placed via e-snipe did not go through. My account is up to date and I have bidpojnts to spare.
Each rejected bid gave the generic notice that I need to verify my account with ebay before bidding.
My account is verified and I have zero tolerance / capacity to deal with any customer service bozos. Bad enough I've had to deal with them for "lost auction items".

Seems that ebay now has rewritten code to foil snipe bids for certain bidders by adding a verification step whenever a bid is placed from another IP address that differs from your verified IP address.

I've used e-snipe exclusively but now I'm bailing for good and going elsewhere, just wondering if anyone else has experienced bids being rejected recently. I'll opt for a pay snipe service to eliminate ads and spam that pollutes free sniping programs.

I've been hearing a lot about snipe bids not going through, and as a result certain in-demand items went for less than they would have!! Another reason not to sell on ebay!

esnipe fucked me over on a long time want - for the same reason MTM mentioned - so I switched to gixen. You can avoid the ads by paying a whopping $6 per year. I miss getting the notifications on my smart phone (as I am not able to look at a computer for much of the day) but so far the 6 or so records I've bid on were successful.

The quality of records on ebay has gone down significantly since (roughly) the start of this year. I see hardly anything I want. There's been talk about 'peak oil' for years, when the amount of crude oil available has reached its peak and is decreasing and getting more expensive. Well I think we reached 'peak records" a while back and are on a accelerating decline.

The problems with esnipe are fixed according to their website. The problem was with ebay who wouldn't allow unauthorized third party access.

"eSnipe explained users must go to eBay's website from their own computer to log out and then log back in to each eBay account which had experienced problems. Then they must go back to eSnipe and update the eBay account information listed within their eSnipe account in order to trigger it to go through the verification process with eBay."

Got an email from esnipe talking about the problems and that they claim everything is fixed. I tried logging in and for the first time I didn't get a message about my account needing updating so that's good. Still using Gixen, only sniped about 6 things with it.

I've never used esnipe or gixen, so I can't comment on those. But I have always used justsnipe with no problem: both free and paid versions.
