It took me a while to accept the fact that it has some good sides beside all the bullshit (but I still resist having a mobile phone)

I finally got a cell phone. It never leaves the car, is only for emergencies and was dead the last 2 times I went to use it. I'm on the 25 cents a minute plan and I will never get close to using all of the $25 a month they charge me. Sorry, I just refuse to be plugged in 24/7. Nothing better than talking on the old land line.
I do have a fake name on Facebook just so I can locate band members now and then.

I'm on it but I don't really understand it. Same with cell phones. They're too advanced for me. Just recharging it every day is way beyond my capabilities. I've never sent a text message in my life, and I would have no idea how to do it.
Facebook is like that for me. It's one of those things I can't be bothered learning or keeping up with. Plus people can contact you, which has to be bad.

Thanks for baling me out Mark. I thought I was the only one who feels this way around here. I also have never texted or tweeted. FACEBOOK or the FIGJAM (Fuck I'm Good Just Ask Me) generation as I like to call it is just a waste of time. You know Joey Ramone said that "the highlight of his day was the morning grunt" And I gotta kinda go along with that. But I just don't want to share the exact time of that grunt with the world.

Yes, I'm also a luddite in many ways. Since we're chatting here, I should mention that the temperature in Sydney today where I work (near Sydney Airport) was 46.5C which is 116 degrees Fahrenheit. I put out an urgent VMA (vinyl melt alert).

wow...What's the humidity there? it's 28 degrees here in foggy California.

-6°C here this side of the mountains, 10.30 am. Snow and ice everywhere, ski planned this weekend,
with -15°C on top of the pistes !

expecting more snow in Paris. Facebook is actually pretty cool when you have close friends who live far away and that you only see every few years. It's also a good way to know about events. Or find someone you lost touch with (well when they use their real names). it just get silly when you spend more than a half hour on it each day and starts to put pictures of every meal you have.
