I spent about 45 minutes yesterday with the gentleman who was the lead guitarist for Yesterday's Children. A charming ex-physics teacher that was mildly surprised at someone being familiar with the band and their 45. He had no recollection of how the record came to be issued on Parrot, and doesn't own a copy of it himself ! Also, the master tape was in his possession at one time but has been destroyed by a flood in his basement. He was quite surprised when I told him the 45 is highly praised and sought by fiends all over the world. He also had no knowledge of a European picture sleeve ever being issued. He sold his Les Paul Jr. used on the recording years ago, but continues to play guitar just for the fun of it.

posing Hamlet's question amidst a storm of controlled audio violence was truly a masterstroke. How could he forget it?

I was listening to 'To Be Or Not To Be' on Friday and thinking to myself how much it had in common with The Craig's 'I Must Be Mad'.

The Craig came from Birmingham, a city only 18 miles away from where I lived in the 60s, yet I can't remember hearing anything of them at the time. For years I assumed they were a studio band, but later discovered that they had played at local venues. So I am guilty of forgetting something I should have known.

I wouldn't say the 45 is particularly hard to collect. The French EP is somewhat more so but does pop up. It is quite expensive., however. Amazing that he was kept so in the dark.

By the way the French EP has been reissued a few years ago:
