Ty Wagner & Jon Spencer on KEXP

great, thanks for posting. spencer is such a cool guy and he seems to have some serious fun here. ty wagner seems a bit bored but it's a wonder he still looks and sounds that fresh.

    Bob Bennett has passed away

Gutted by the news that Bob Bennett of the Sonics passed away a couple of days ago. He has forever shaped the way I want drums to sound. And how I want the drums to be played. The great fills in Psycho, Boss Hoss, the tough, loud, warhorse playing on He's Waiting, The Witch of Do You Love Me...

Foolish People: clueless ebay record sellers

I have broken all ties with him after he ripped me for $2000 ten years ago. But a couple of months ago I bought a 45 from him over discogs, not knowing it was him. The record was very fairly priced, well graded and excellently packed.

    Germany in the 1960s

as the person that made the statement about the low quality of german 1960s "garage", i say thank you for enlightening me. most of the tracks i knew, ans some are really good (e.g Loosers, Vanguards, Petards), some are ok, some are bad. Still, we're talking about a country that had up to 60...

    DROSSELBART. Engel Des Todes

Yeah, probably should be taken with a bit of salt. Still, pretty much all the mid-1960s "garage" music coming out of germany is pretty bad or horrible, passable at best. Mostly, it's a bad rip-off of us/uk groups or it is drenched with elements of the german "schlager". late 60s/early 70s...

    DROSSELBART. Engel Des Todes

really horrible. probably even worse for me as i can understand the dumbo lyrics. highly annoying. if there's one thing that germans shouldn't dabble in, it's music

    Clueless ebay buyers

those prices are so crazy. i check ebay every night, but hardly ever win anything, 5 records per year, max! i used to win 5 in a week 15 years ago or so. remember that "insane collection" from like 10 years ago? took a look at it recently and was really stunned about the price tags that by...

    Chesterfield Kings - 1984 Live

not a big fan of the scene neither, but the Chesterfield Kings I always liked, albeit the often sterile production on the LP's. Something did set them apart a bit from contemporaries. In relation to "modern" garage revival bands, the 1980 did have some originality that is mostly lacking...

Lots of Girl Group / Girl Garage records on the market right now

hey guys, i've seen a lot of girl group / girl pop /girl r&b / doo wop / girl garage records on the market lately, including a couple of really hot titles that turn up rarely. then, tefteller had a "girl" auction, the recent merrill list is circa 90% female or at least female fronted singles...

bought a handful of records off instagram, but not much. generally, the experience was good. prices were not as overhyped as in the FB group.

    Ghost Riders - new comp

not crazy about the aesthetics, but a comp that has two straight (personal) 10s in my book (decompressed and landlords) can only be great.

    Crypt-Tim

yeah, someone should scan the old mailorder catalogues and lists, they were so good. as a novice to the genre, you would be hipped to exactly what to buy (sonics, wailers, remains, new bomb turks, oblivians,..) the standard back then was extreme. i remember tim totally slamming the spaceshits'...
