What would one expect to pay for either of these presses? May have an HBR copy sourced, but there was mention of having the Contact original as well. Just don't want to have to guess on something like this...thanks in advance!

Would $400 for a Contact copy be reasonable?

$400 is too much in my mind. I would say $100ish is about right for Contact. HBR is a tougher pull. Maybe $400ish unless it is super clean (or the mythical West Coast press).

COMMENTS pt 1: Sometime in June, the IA pressing(s) must have started
selling briskly, prompting HBR (among others) to try to lease the
master of YGMM. IA agrees verbally to sign lease w/HBR, but
stipulates that the record is not to be pressed until they see the
contract. Upon arriving in L.A.(probably the first week in July), IA
president Bill Dillard learns, probably from Lelan Rogers, that HBR
has begun pressing the record anyway despite the agreement. Dillard
threatens to sue HBR, refuses to sign contract, and leaves. (Note
that the publishing is still Acquire, a vital clue in dating this
disc BEFORE later pressings.) HBR had obtained the tape via Huey
Meaux, who had been given a copy by Gordon Bynum at an earlier
stage. Note also that when creating a new master, HBR reduced the playtime by
4 seconds through a crude fadeout. This fadeout was then repeated for all (?)
1966 pressings of the 45. HBR 492 was on sale for a very brief period of time and possibly only in Miami, Florida. It is very hard to find today.

COMMENTS pt 2: After conferring with Mike Markesich, it appears that there is only one known pressing of HBR 492; this Nashville pressing. This is apparently distinguished by the "X" on the labels. This with reference to #8 below.

COMMENTS pt 3: Minor variations on the dead wax info have been reported; there may be two different pressings (i e: HBR went through two different stampers), but the only difference between these would be the matrix number.

COMMENTS: Based on my interview with Bill Dillard, HBR 492
WAS pressed on the West Coast but apparently all of
these copies were destroyed before distribution, as nobody has a West
Coast press of this as far as we know.

I would tend a little higher than eleelandc for nice vg++ or better. $250 for Contact, $500 plus for HBR which is highly sought after and I still don't own myself after all these years.

VG++ is a LOT cleaner than you typically see either in around these parts (meaning; Houston). I would say that my HBR is VG and I think that was $280 on ebay.
I'm livin in the Fred Sanford land of sleeveless castaways as opposed to a garden of unplayed stock! LOL!
