Since October 1, 1st class postage from US to Australia & NZ suspended indefinitely

Only options are in the $75+ range.

How bizarre this world has become, for being so interconnected!

Unbelievable. Postage was already prohibitive. Certain large sellers no doubt will still be able to offer free or minimal postage

I remember around 15 to 20 years ago, postage from USA to Australia was cheap & fast. Now it seems like we are back to the 19th century.

Steam ships and camel trains would be quicker than a lot of the modern postal system

If you're selling on ebay , you can still ship to Australia through ebay International Shipping. Packages are shipped by the PO to a US address then handled by DHL. I just mailed a package about a week ago, $15 for a 5 ounce package.

I would think the courier services such as UPS and Fedex, at least for speed & reliability, not sure about cost.
