That's an incredible list Monster Mike.

"The Souls Of Death Row"...what is that?

Thanks Boss! I only use the proceeds from selling records to fund my hobby/addiction, so it took a massive amount hustle and LOTS of luck. Lots more I didn't have time to mention as there's always a kid tugging on my pant leg as I type. Lol

I posted a clip of The SODR in the secret society section. Had planned on putting a comp together early next year, but instead let Mr. Warren use most of the stuff for future releases.

Here are a bunch more from this year...

Surfaris – Search
Mojos – What She’s Done To Me / Go
Electric Prunes – Ain’t It Hard / Little Olive

Sharon Tandy (& Les Fleur De Lys) - Hold On
...I bought
Bonnie St. Claire - Surrender

Her biggest ones this year are probably
Victoire Scott - 4eme Dimension
Ronnie Bird - Sad Soul / Rain In The City
Les Marquis - Fire Horses
The Famous Crew - A Painting On The Wall
Traffic Sound - Meshkalina
...and a bunch more, mostly French, with names that escape me. Great stuff though.

Not at home right now. I need some time to list this years' purchases... but it's been a pretty good year by my standards - I've been able to fill a few gaping holes in the collection + some nice surprises as well. Just a coupla weeks ago I picked up a M- Rogues - You Better Look Now / Train... here in Stockholm of all places... not a cheapo score but a good price for such a clean copy
A coupla more from the top off my head...

Third Bardo - Five Years Ahead Of My Time
Groupies - Primitive
Tree - No Good Woman
Beaux Jens - She Was Mine
Run-a-Rounds - I Couldn't Care Less
Expedition To Earth - Expedition To Earth

...more to come...

Really green with envy right now... :D

Right. 2013. Yet another year I wasn't supposed to spend too much money on records. But judging on previous posts in this thread, I had a slow year! Good to see so many of you really having a ball in 2013.

I bought a shitload of 45s this year, but thankfully most of them were under $100. Some of my kids needs to move out before this will change. Which is perhaps a good thing. Either way.

So here is my top three US garage acquisitions from this past year

Numero uno by a long shot is this one.

Cirkit w/PS.

Had the PS, needed the 45. Now they are (for the first time) back together! Good times were had by all.

Pastels: What can I say (Century)

Top want moody killer! Looks a bit rough but plays VG+(+). Which one came first, the one with or without the Century logo? Now I only miss Circuit Breaker...which I believe will be a tad harder to score.

The Coachmen: Drambuie (Century)

Very pleased with this VG++ copy. First heard by me on TS, seemed impossible to find (pre-eBay mindset)

The rest is a bit of a blur, but here is a rough list of memorable purchases

Trackers: You afre my world (Landa) Surely a recent quantity find?
Golliwogs: Brown-eyed girl (Scorpio)
Patriots: What a drag it is (Murbo)
Wyld: Lost One (Charay)
Yesterday's Obsession: The Phycle (Pacemaker)
Marilyn Mattson: He means so much to me (Allied)
Palace Guards: Better things to do (U-Doe) VG++ upgrade
Johnny Nitzinger: Plastic window (Soft)
Plymouth Rockers: Roll over Stephen Foster (Plymouth)
Underground balloon Corps.: (Heart) Made of soul (Scope)
Perils: Hate (Velva)
Canadian Rogues: Run and hide (Paris Tower) + picture insert
Frisco Mint (Eastwood)
Disraeli (several)
Music Machine: Talk talk (on first label design)
Bill Hjerpe, Innkeepers, Interpreters, Disraeli, Warmest Spring, Flameouts: all with PS
Illusions: I know (A.C.P.)
MC5: Looking at you (A2) No PS...sob
Breakers: Don't send me no flowers.. (Amy)
Music Emporium: Nam myo... (Sentinel)
Fonograf Four: You're not foolin me (Recettsic)
Joey Gee & the Come-Ons: She's mean (Sara)
Eliminators: She's alright (no label)
Palace Guard: Greed (Parkway)

++++

Did a nice sweep of UK 45 staples I missed from the Who, Kinks, Stones, Them, Animals, Poets+++

Top of the heap for me being a more or less M- copy of this, first heard on the AIP Freakbeat series (early 90s) and finally mine. This has a really strong production, squeaky clean pressing with that amazing laid-back attitude really coming through strong! (sorry for the Les harris'ish scan! Dunno what happened there..

And let's not forget the wonderful world of obscure US hard rock/rural/stoner/basement jam 45s, shall we!
Damn hard to come by and still really a relatively obscure field of collecting. Doesn't seem to be much sharing of information going around. So this year, three 45s really stood out.

Number one by a f****n' long-shot!

Free Flight: All your love (RM)

Simply the greatest 45 from the 70s I've heard since discovering Volt Rush Band. Like an early 70s version of a well-groomed Misfits. That's what springs to my mind anyway. And really great background vocals I did not notice at all when listening to the rough mp3 cut from the auction. Desert island record.

2. Buck: Long hot highway (Silk Banana)

Bonus find of 2013! While slowly browsing myself to death, hundreds and hundreds of pages, testing every stupid keyword I can think of. This appeared. On the last page. I could not believe my ears. Or eyes. Buck; though left a smile on my face that saved the later half of 2013. Both aurally and, ehm, visually. Dry, hard rockin' but smooth, and with a raw fresh sound. Just how we like it!

The boys!

3. Southern Raleway: Lonely man (Harvest)

May not have bought this in 2013. But certainly rediscovered this year! Originally bought after hearing a soundclip of the OK'ish rockin' flip, I played the the b-side sometime this year in a good and comfy red-wine haze and got blown away! What we have here is the perfect underground power ballad! A must-hear. A perfect companion to the already grailish Petroc and Pals 45 on Bootleg. I need to make a comp of these sort of songs for those who care as much as me

1390709_10151994558495631_186225571_n.jpg

Honourable mention goes out to In-Sex (Hammer), Supachief, Zapata (Metro-Dome), Derringer (Burr), Fingers (Police) and Dokken (Hard)(yes, Don Dokken...)

-------------

Been a barren year for original promo photos. Closest I got was this. Although it is a nice period piece!

Got lucky on a M-'ish BIn of this and now only need the Minit version...

Getting back to an alphabetized system and more and better shelving is a huge priority in 2014.

From me and Rick (R.I.P.): Have a jolly New Year's Eve and a smashing 2014!

2013, was that a pin code or a year-gone reference?...:screwy:

Ahhh memory, that inevitably revised, generally less reliable reference that invariably trades in tricks & asides, cursory highs & FIEND BE GONE interim lows.

Regarding MONSTROSITIES acquired this past year, through sheer power of inertia & what might be beast characterized as something along the lines of incidental interim left field heads up scattershot momentum, the following paltry few acquisitions that best lit my windows these fair few seasons past would have to include the following:

OK , here's my #1 score. I'll rely on the good folks observing this to characterize why, in fact, this should rate as a score. ( Hint: : It's quite likely the rarest Yradbirds 45 extant) Yes, i kniw it's spelled Ydarbrids but I couldn't resist...

Yardbirds - Think About It NZ press.jpg

& yes, heres' a mockup of the -->open your mind . & please be kind... PS

Yardbirds Goodnight BB 68 5:4.jpg

This below pictured aviarialy chiming mood enhancer lightened my day, if not, after somewhat tepid negotiations , me coffers. El Presidente ( the seller) severely understated the severity of this offering, ah well...

New Rumley Invincibles.jpg

Holy Smokes !!! --> here's a fave. Western Pennsylvania, reportedly. As mild mannered a rocker as I'd allow to breach the portals... & yes , it's the repro, still, do YOU have an original ???

Beers, Mackey - That Jim label.jpg

Though it goes somewhat against the grain, I opted for a repro here. Vive' Les '70's !!!

Nasal Boys.jpg

OK, just recalled that this ferocious circa 1979 Scottish crie de couer recently descended on the Oulde Homestead on a dark & curiously not terribly stormuy day sometime this soon to be last , year. Yikes, it's a KILLER !!!!!!!!!!

Fire Exit - Time s Wal.jpg

The Great Believers (comin up fast)
A-440 (Torture)
Zakary Thak (Green Crystal Ties)
The Union (on Radel)
:boggle:

Woow, really, the world is small, my last purchase is flying from Texas to Asturias at this moment.

I did a lot more record shopping in 2013, mostly for obscure 45cat contributions. My finds are nothing compared to some of the rarities on here, but I still found a bunch of rather common stuff. Notably:

The Gentrys - I Can't Go Back To Denver (75 cents at an antique mall)
The Smoke Ring - No Not Much (99 cents at Amoeba in LA)
The Exiles - Come Out, Come Out Whoever You Are ($4.99 at Caveman in LA)
Timmy Willis - Gotta Get Back To Georgia (75 cents at an antique mall)

And one of my most desired records: the Myddle Class's "Don't Let Me Sleep Too Long". It's the Buddah re-release, but it was just $5 at a record fair (where I ended up buying a lot more records than I sold!).

Most of it was cheap dollar-bin finds or items of that nature. As a result, nothing I found was that uncommon.

Here are 52 of my best finds of the year. (It's a legitimate site, but Mediafire doesn't allow downloads if it detects copyrighted content. Don't worry!) Be warned, there's much more psych/pop than garage...

Screw all of what I just posted - I just found the two issues of Rebel Teen (the Nov. '83 premiere issue and another from '88) that I thought I lost...right on this computer desk, no less. :screwy:

As some of you may recall, I found those two for $5 (for the pair!) at a record show last November. Hey, it's close enough to being a 2013 find...

After mucho looking and searching my girlfriend also got:
Toni Basil - Breakaway / I'm 28 (A&M)
...this year. She got it for the gorgeous flip side - great moody sway beat cross between girlgroup and L.A. folkrock sound. The a side is, unfortunately for us who don't care much abouth that scene, a very desirable 'northern' spin. Written by Ed Cobb and got 'all the moves', but a bit too generic for my ears :p
