A lot of great records changing hands in 2015.

The Chob remains firmly at the top of my desired but unobtainable due to resources list (along with Short Time). I assume that Bob's (paisley haze) copy went? I'd just blown a wedge on Abba but I still thought about selling my soul/arse/family for The Chob. I hope it found a loving home.

Short Time...most fierce garage track of all time. :yikes:

While I picked up a couple of cool LPs, this was a year I focused on singles; with two unusually meaty collections that came up for sale here, I can't imagine splurging like this again! The following discs found their way into my 45 boxes during 2015:

The Bad Roads - “Til The End Of The Day” (Rain Tyre)
Club 76 - “Your Body Not Your Soul” (Italian GMG)
The Daybreakers - “Psychedelic Siren” (Dial)
The Deepest Blue - “Pretty Little Thing” (Blue-Fin)
Fourth Creation - “Why Is There No Trace Of You” (Daran) (great sweet soul)
The Glas Managerie - “Mod Threads” (Romain)
Greek Fountains - “Howlin For My Darling” (Bofuz)
The Gremlins - “The Coming Generation” E.P. (N.Z Viscount)
The Grodes - “Love Is A Sad Song” (Rally) (could use an upgrade...)
The Intruders - “Now That You Know” (IT) (could use the picture sleeve...)
The Jets - “The Worker In The Night” (Dutch Fontana) (pop beat)
The Joys Of Life - “Descent” (Columbia)
Juan & Junior - “Andurina” (German Zafiro) (Fading Yellow favorite)
Kempy And The Guardians - “Love For A Price” (Romunda)
Paul Martin - “It Happened” (Impex)
The Maundy Quintet - “I'm Not Alone” (Paris Tower)
The Oracle - “Don't Say No” (Verve Forecast) (another Fading Yellow)
The Others - “I Can't Stand This Love, Goodbye” (RCA Victor)
The Psychopaths - “Til The Stroke Of Dawn” (David-Lloyd Co.)
The Purple Underground - “Soon” (Boss) (an upgrade after a long search...)
I Ragazzi Dai Capelli Verde - “Un Tipo Per Te” (Italian CDB – on green vinyl!)
Sir Michael & The Sounds - “Can You” (Dig)
The Slaves - “Slaves Time” (Austrian Philips)
Something Wild - “Trippin Out” (Psychedelic)
The Tuesday Club - “Only Human” (Philips)

Hi there!
Long time listener, first time caller..

I've picked up some great psych LPs in 2015 but I'll list one disc in particular since this is the G45 forum.

One evening I was at the garage of a (relatively) local record dealer and asked to see his box of garage 45s. Among some cool tunes I got a copy of 'Horror Asparagus Stories' by the Driving Stupid. I've lost many brain cells listening to this 45, enough for me to catch the garage 45 bug :boggle:

Now after hearing the 'No No No' compilation I've realized I have a lot in common with these moody teens from half a century ago. I'm excited to discover more great tunes in 2016. Now back to waiting for The Invaders - I Was a Fool and The Wanted - Here To Stay to arrive in the mail!

Peace,
Julian

I did not acquire the Chob 45 from the Paisley Haze collection sell-off.

That Wanted 45 is one of the absolute best moody teen anthems ever. I imagine you've already viewed this awesomeness...

No I haven't! Great footage, I like the organ player reaching to tune the guitar, haha.
Say, is there a notable difference in sound between the label variations of that song? I don't have TBM but will pick it up soon enough.

Thought I'd got zero.. then remembered this year I obtained these few for a combined total of about $3 + some gasoline.

The Cherry Slush - I Cannot Stop You - USA
Thee Midniters - I Found A Peanut - Chattahoochee
The Rondeus - Anymore - Magna
J.P. Hammond and the Versa-Tones - Suicide - Magna (maybe more like rockabilly)
Unknown Acetate - Girl Listen - Audiodisc
Hollie Hellems and The Rhythmn Kings - Sorry - Major

Jimmy Martin and The Montereys - The Bug - Dominion (WV Rockabilly)
Wick Graig and the Auto Chords - Auto Hop - Cool (WV Auto harp hot rod rockabilly instro scorcher):wtf:

The best thing about garage collecting in 2015 was the majority of my most treasured sides coming from forum members or at least off-ebay. Here’s the top-ten that provided the most joie de vivre around here - as you can tell by the shaky hands taking these snaps:

1. BURGUNDY RUNN: Stop (Lavette)

this is a major-league want of mine.

I too got an Apollos Apaches last year too.

Hi John,

Meaty score !

May I ask: orig w/ PS or later Pokara re?

I don't keep a yearly record of acquisitions. Maybe I should?

These are some of the highlights I can recall. Not all garage, but mostly:

US
Changin' Times: How Is The Air Up There/Young & Innocent Girl (I've been after the La De Das version of the A side. Don't know if I will ever get that, but I'm more than glad to have the original)

UK
Thane Russall & Three: Security/Your Love Is Burning Me (Oz copy. Most people seem to be after this record for the A side. I imagine most people here would be interested in the B side?)

Australia
Tony Cole: Beat It/Juliet (Killer A side. I forget what the B side sounds like. Does that mean something?)
The Id (featuring Jeff St John): Big Time Operator/Sister's Got A Boyfriend (action's on the A side for me)
Easybeats: I realised I was missing a lot Easys 7"s, so I added:
Wedding Ring/Me or You
Heaven and Hell/Pretty Girl (the best B side in this lot)
Peculiar Hole in the Sky/HP Man
Good Times/Lay Me Down and Die
St Louis/Can't Find Love
Also realised I didn't have any of the early Johnny O'Keefe, so I added these:
Shakin' At The Stadium EP (includes Wild One aka Real Wild Child)
Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On EP
So Tough/That'll Be Allright (pretty beat copy, unfortunately)

NZ
Dave Miller Set: Mr Guy Fawkes/Someone Is Sure To (the A side is one example of another band's version being better than the original)

Singapore
Doris Ang EP inc Michael and the Slipper Tree (Fuzzadelic version of the Equals song)

Malaysia
Strollers: Just As I Am/Dying Path (A side is pop-psych, B side is heavy rock. Maybe actually 1970 or 1971)

Indonesia
Dara Puspita LP: Green Green Grass (plenty of good stuff here)
Bob Tutopoly & the Echoes: Stone Free 'Dedicated to Dr Martin Luther King' (ditto)

Hong Kong
Teddy Robin and the Playboys: Lies '67/See You In September (Philippines release)
