50 States set

Let's say "no fuzz necessary" for states that have a limited number of garage band 45s to choose from - not everybody was lucky enough to have a fuzz-bustin' 45 show up in their particular state. From what I can tell, some states had extremely limited 45 action, so I'll grant them immunity from fuzz buzzing as a key component. No leeway for states with a variety of fuzz action 45s to their credit.

Rhode Island - Others - I Can't Stand This Love, Goodbye

New Jersey - Richard And The Young Lions - You Can Make It

New York - Magic Plants - I'm A Nothing*

* with Honorable Mention accorded to Far Rockaways fuzziest--->

Faine Jade - it Ain't True

Illinois - hmmmmm - Great Train Robbery by Little Boys Blue would seem to fit the mold.

Could it be that Illinois might prove to be the most contentious state to tackle, or simply one that provides a most imposing array of candidates? Sure, (nearly) next door Michigan would have been a nightmare to winnow down, kudo's to Bosshoss for imposing an executive edict in MI.'s instance.

So, with IL. providing choices such as:

Savoys - Can It Be

Treez - You Lied To Me Before

Things To Come - I'm Not Talking

Banshees - Project Blue

...to propose an already rule bending 4.

I submit that as our host Howlin' Hoosier did in fact qualify his choice of Little Boy Blues with a loophole of sorts, that one of the above mentioned quartet of fuzz laden monsters be considered as a potential standard bearer for the disquieting & racketeering state of Illinois.

Reviewing the list so far it seems curious that Massachusetts has yet to be considered. Not a terribly tough choice for me. Does anything come close to this ---> ?

Shames - My World Is Upside Down.jpg

..except perhaps this? Extra credit for early adoption of the tone, this is a sure bet as one of '64's fuzziest, and I'll include the PNW in the running.Barbarians Hey Little Bird 478.jpg

Expressions were not from Tennessee!!
which state were they from? Has to be one of 3! Then my vote may have to go to Flash and The Casuals, Uptight Tonight or The New Musical Express if they were indeed from Tennessee..Lafayette is pretty close to the Kentucky border.

*I'm pulling rank and making Indiana's fuzz representative song Sir Winston and the Commons We're Gonna Love (I'm listed in the credits on Sundazed's reissue of their songs, so I'm gonna be selfish with this one state). ;) States with multiples listed - we'll have to duke it out (especially Illinois - a splendid hotbed of fuzzy finds).

I'll toss in the delightful Knaves - Leave Me Alone as another Illinois candidate.

Tennessee has lots of great punkers and Flash is pretty high on the heep but if you want fuzz and the whole nine yards it doesn't get much better than Danny Burke and the Invaders "aint goin' nowhere".

I'll have to take your word on this one - I'm getting schooled in this little exercise. Might be neat to piece this beast together to see how it all fits. I can see the cover artwork - one of those wooden 50 state U.S. maps where the pieces fit inside the border/frame.
