'60s Jangle

Wow, lots of great suggestions here!

My current obsession: "Never Feel The Pain" by Dalek : The Blackstones.

Weirdest band name ever, and I'd love to hear the story behind it if anyone knows. From what I can gather, the song was recorded in '65, but not released until 1970.

No, the Blackstones 45s were all released in '65. Their manager was the person responsible for adding the Dalek and Dalek:Ingam prefaces to the monicker on the 45s, as he wanted DJs / music industry people to think the Blackstones were "English" and not of local origin. The group was always known as the Blackstones. Member Jerry McGeorge left the group in the fall of '65 to join the Shadows of Knight, and Geoff Bryan regrouped under the name Saturday's Children.

Maybe he figured resistance would be useless? But I'd think the Daleks would want to destroy all music. I think it'd be great to see a band with a Dalek on drum, or maybe better, as the drum.

The song I posted is by The Whigs, and it's called "You're Gonna Lose Her" on the Shy label. It was on eBay 3 weeks ago (Chairmanmeowy) with a min. bid of $150. It's a complete unknown and possibly one-of-a-kind as far as I know. With no way to hear the record, I was the only bidder prepared to take a chance at that price. Otherwise known as "bidding deaf".
Here's the non-jangly, fuzzy flip

I love the fact that complete unknowns STILL show up even now. That's awesome!

Killer flip, Mark!

I love Janglers..... I'm amazed no-one mentioned The Paradox - There's A Flower Shop it's such a brilliant Jangler.

On My next LP due in April, I have about 4 Janglers, one of which I think sounds like a lost Euro-Beat Jangler, I am going to attempt to make a promo video for it this weekend.

Paul

PS.... just seen the above post... sorry.... yep Someone else love The Paradox's genius

The Bossmen doing their rendition of our recording of The Easy Way Out. Has the "jangle" sound throughout.
