'60s Jangle

The song that you actually hear is THE JAKES "It's Been Nice" on the PATRIOT label.
News to me. I thought it was just an unreleased acetate.

Judging by the clip on the eBay auction, the acetate featured on michaelvee's unknown acetates compilation is the one under the Jakes name. The one used on the Fallen Angels/Mad Hatters compilation, which is in much better shape, is probably the Loved Ones acetate or master tape.

Jangle Folk Rock is not a descriptor I’ve used, but listening to Greenfuzz’s example tracks, I’d define it as anything inspired by The Searchers, or The Byrds - I also heard some Beatles in there, and even Hey Joe - but I think it mostly comes back to The Searchers. You could even argue that The Byrds were inspired by The Searchers.

“You Say” is the stand out for me also, and maybe is more power pop than jangle (although I’m not sure what people mean by power pop).

I would add Del Shannon's "Keep Searchin'" to the list; maybe because it's the first example of Jangle Folk / Power Pop crossover.
