Not sure if anyone here would bother to splurge for this, as it is quite pricey depending on the sale source - a box set of 6 45rpm bootlegs tagged with resplendent buzzwords as "remastered from the original 45s"... This product is obviously a ploy produced by some European low-rent dj type collector needing to fund his buying habits, and not something churned out by a person who respects the music enough to do the project correctly (aka, legally, analog remastering, etc). More volumes are planned.

This box turned up cheap from a US distributor. I avoid bootlegs, but since the 45 labels did not state these were reproductions, I bought it so I could make notes for my repro 45 guide - https://garagehangover.com/garage-45-reproductions/

These wouldn't fool anybody in person if someone tried to pass one off as original. The biggest giveaway is the labels are all much smaller in diameter than usual 45 labels of any era - about 1/4" along the circumference, or 1/2" smaller in total. They also have a glossy sheen and the thin lines I see on many European 45 pressings lately.

Each 45 is on heavy vinyl. Despite being brand-new, they all had some light scuffing, maybe from the stiff sleeves they're shoved into. "Black Suit" by the Iguana even had a few ticks at the start from a small scuff or pressing defect.

The vinyl plays quietly, but each track has the compressed sound and lack of dynamics of an actual '60s 45. I see this problem on many recent 45 issues, hardly anyone knows how to master properly.

The only good thing about this box is I finally noticed how good a song is the Creation's Disciple's "I'll Remember".

Donnybrookes label, repro first, original second:

Some of my least favorite things in one place: a bar code, "Digitally Remastered" (that's a plus?) with galling "watermark protected" icon, bogus rights license, and "limited edition" number that no one cares about.

This bears all the signs of a James Plummer / Steven Carr product.
