Austin Record Convention

Did not go but know a forum member grabbed the Stoics and Pascal found a Continentals on Gaylo for $6.

SO.... An unplayed stock copy of the Pointing Hand Group 4 song ep on WCI (Working Girl/Bus Ride/Withered Lilacs/Love Must Learn) changed hands at ARC. 1969 Post Thursday's Children yadda yadda. Rare, sure, but kinda tepid to my ears. couple of tracks were on the VOXX Thursday's Children 1965-69 comp LP...

I consulted the oracle but... "beyond popsike" or "sub-popsike"? Y'all have thoughts on what price point is right?

Curious about the related Helpinstill 45 & Helpinstill Factory Band 45 on Akashic too (from 1973 I think?)..... People sweating Ezra Charles beyond Thursday's Children's 1st 3?

I've been collecting for years, even traveling the states just to dig and have never attended this or Allentown. Next year I plan to hit at least one; which would you guys say is best???

Never been to allentown but the prospect of an all 45s record show makes me think that I would love it!

Yea, I've heard through the grapevine about finds at both shows and Allentown seems more up my alley. Just curious of others opinions/experiences...

I'm going to Allentown in 2014 or 2015 depending on how much time I need to save up a really big chunk of cash! Not going to travel half-way across the world without the means to buy a big ticket want. Looking forward to it already :boggle:

And after so many years on the same forum(s), it would be a twilight zone moment to meet up with some of you in real life.

you'll probably see me there Mr. Segment! My friends did the hotel thing the days prior to the actual fair, they said it was cool, I saw a lot of big doowop blues big ticket items. A lot of garage too a bit overpriced IMO, but I guess you can always negotiate. among the garage saw Knight bridge quintet.

Same here - can't keep letting the years pass and putting off flying to the States. And of course its going to coincide with Allentown or the like

WFMU's three-day fair is coming up November 22-24. There are more records than a human can look at in that time.

I'll be at C22 selling all kinds of things including plenty of garage 45s. Stop by and say hello!

Are you going to be there for all three days, Chris? I'm not sure if I'll be coming, possibly on Friday only. I think I will have a couple of good / sought after garage 45s to sell, if that is the case, I'll definitely swing down.

Yes, I'm doing it the entire weekend! My friend John will have a couple interesting items too, one not in TBM.

Don't sweat these later pieces but would buy on sight at the right price. Do sweat not having a Helpinstill Roadmaster 88 though!
