I read that B.B. Cunningham of Ronnie & the Dayonas/the Hombres was shot and killed while working at an apartment complex, I believe in Memphis. He wrote "Let It Out (Let It All Hang Out) which hit #12 in September 1967.

holee shit i saw him twice with jerry lee and had no idea who he was!!!

BB was one of a kind. Such a nice guy and fun to hang out with. He still owned and operated a studio in Memphis. The old Sounds of Memphis studios off Park ave. We were there with one of my bands recording a few months ago and chatted for a while. Said his wife had been doing security work and that he had recently started doing it as well. So sad. All of his music is worth checking out. His early instros such as electrode are magnificent as well as his classic rockabilly stroller about being on bandstand "trip to bandstand"

His tastes for music were varied though. He produced and recorded the well know "Maceo and all the Kings men" for the "house of fox" label. One of the first solo efforts by James Browns amazing saxophonist Maceo Parker. Anyhow all that stuffs out there to read about. Past all that he was just a great guy. And he will be sorely missed.
