Back From The Grave 11

It's definitely a 'bonehead cruncher' to me, and way out of the Warren Wheelhouse to be on BFTG.
That being said, I definitely hear the early Led Zep influence...especially the lead vocals and guitar
solo. Maybe bits of "Whole Lotta Love" and "Communication Breakdown". I've said in the past here
that "Communication Breakdown" was, (ahem) "heavily influenced" by The Buddhas' "Lost Innocence"
which Jimmy Page would have heard when The Buddahs opened for The Yardbirds in Bakersfield, CA
circa 1967 or '68. Never let a good bass line go to waste...

definitely dont hear "Communication Breakdown"..... BUT i do here a lil bit o' Zep's "Rock'N'Roll" (from Zep IV) in the attack and speed, but honestly Zep was channeling some pretty retro rockabilly/r'n'b on that tune, so it's tuff to say if that's the main influence (unless of course you know the band personally and they said Zep was their main influence).

The weezing mid 60's sounding organ on "Fast Master" also definitely does not reveal a typical "heavy" 70's influence (unless you count The Modern Lovers or VU as "heavy" 70's bands). I guess you could also probably throw out some Blue Cheer and MC5 comparisons to this song, but, again, that's more cuz of the volume/speed level and the screaming all of which can easily be chocked up to pure teen nervous energy as much as any heavy rock worship
This does seem to follow the structure & sound of "CB". The organ, to my ears (out of the garage), is buried enough in the cacophony to not really factor much into the sound.
I also thought "Rock N Roll" at first, but if this was 1970 (as dated in Discogs by a certain Mr. Carfagna based on the matrix #), this predates that by about a year. But then, we know how Jimmy loved to "borrow" things. (This is a joke, unless somehow, he did manage to hear this.)

Regarding main influences, many bands have never been found but that never stops anyone from taking an educated guess. Some hear rockabilly & r'n'b. others hear bloozy proto-metal.

I also agree with the consensus regarding BFTG inclusion. It's definitely not the right sound for that. But it was most certainly Fuzzworthy.

What we are trying to figure out here is material that has the classic BFTG sound, not some sort of "wouldn't it be cool if Tim Warren could stretch his criterion for inclusion a little bit like he has once or twice so that a song I like can be on BFTG 11" 😆! The beauty of the series was at least partially due to it's consistency, you knew what you were going to get with each volume, why mess that up?

This one is just a scream away from worthiness, in my estimation. Pity.

Definitely needed a good scream or two before and/or during the break.
The falsetto backing was bearable (but just barely). It did remind me of an old Marx Brother line from Night the Opera (IIRC):

Margaret Dumont: I'll have you know I have a falsetto voice.
Chico: That's nothin'. I gotta falsetto teeth.

Olaf Jens just posted this on FB, the unused artwork for BFTG 4 if it had been an all Minnesota/Wisconsin volume! It may or may not have ended up being Hipsville #3. This warms my heart being a Minnesotan don'tyaknow 😊
