Hey folks, I finally took a breather from digging through some of the 'new' Crypt comps and noticed that all the Bonehead comps are up streaming now (as are the more polished sounding Brown Acid comps)
I wouldn't mind owning a bunch of these, but dough remains low and some of the Bonehead comps are getting rare (thank you holiday gift cards for my ability to even grab some Crypt stuff)
Not sure if everyone already checked'em out but, fyi, here's my verdict(s):
Bonehead Crunchers 1 & 2 - excellent! a must have for the folks here who like their teen rock/early punk created in a garage filled w/ cheap beer, w**d smoke, and Pinto exhaust
Bonehead Crunchers 3 - the UK vol., a couple great tunes on here but imho its not essential (lotza better Boneheaded brit trax can be found on some those old school obscuro Brit psych comps that are still in print and cheaper than the Boneheads)
Bonehead Crunchers 4 - European stuff, and woah! I was really surprised by this one, it's almost non stop awesome. Not as great as most of the US volumes, but worth coppin for the monster psych rock trax by Silence (Netherlands) and After Shave (Switzerland) alone
Bonehead Crunchers 5 - damn, what a dud, the land down under is repped here and unfortunatley they really disappointed me, I barely got thru 4 tracks. However you gotta love a band named HEAD, their song 'hobo' on here is a great rockin slop ala the Marble Phrogg, Smokin Willie, or the harder edged Stone Harbor trax
Ultimate Bonehead 1-2, and 4-5 - back to the USA, thank god/Satan, this is all awesome! Like if the BFTG/Last Of The GPU bands all got into porn and facial hair and Satanism
Ultimate Bonehead 3 - eh... i'm gona give it another chance, but I listened to a few trax from this and it just didn't move me like the others - too much polish and gruff machismo for my taste... but I'm gona try to listen to more of it later
