Hey Folks,

I am posting this for a friend, but also am intrigued enough to want to know.

A totally unknown 60s garage 45 has turned up in the hands of a guy in MN, this 45 is of high calibre loser-inept moody garage, inept teenage vocals and farfisa.

The 45 in question seems to be of no real source and could well be an acetate or promo.

The Sleeve is a white label with very simple information on it which is as follows.

The Bands name - The Resurrection
The A-side - 'Like The Way'
The B-side - 'Let Me Tell You'

And the rather mysterious slogan 'Recording Artists Inc'.... it also states it's from Salt Lake!!!!

Any help with this group 'The Resurrection from Utah would be of great help and interests.

Take Care

Is it the Ebay seller Oldsberg who has this or someone else? Is it Christian or Mormon sounding? With a name like that :/...

Perkeo, No it's not Jim Oldsberg or his brother who has this 45.

It's a friend of a collector friend of mine in Duluth MN.

The 45 in question is apparently pretty killer.... I personally know nothing about it nor does my friend or the actual owner of the 45, it's a total mystery.

Which from the replies on this post, apparently is a complete unknown?

Paul

 The Duluth collector mafia strikes again! I'm originally from back there, it's gotta be Lanfield, Frey or Post as the collector friend (?) but I wonder who the 45 owner is? The big question of course is whether Moptop Mike knows anything about this one....you out there man? I suppose you need to keep SOME new info intact for TBM but hey, I didn't bring this one up ...

Nope, I'm not hiding anything. I didn't post a response because I have nothing to offer.
If it is Frey or Landfield, I'm sure they would have contacted me personally to see if I knew anything, and neither one has.

No problem, no offense intended, just thought I'd make sure with a "pointed inquiry" ;)...Paging Bob Lan(d)field! Which brings up another Duluth related matter - do you know anything at all about the Sound of the Reign LP Mike? I just about crapped myself when I finally saw labels on that and there was a very plain Duluth street adress...

Yeah these guys definitely had the party aesthetic going..."I ain't gonna eat out my Mother in Law"

Mike.... or for that matter anyone who is in the know.

Bob has emailed me a couple of soundclips and picture file of this mystery Utah garage 45.

Let's just say.... if these cats were Mormons then I wanna join their church.

Paul

Ps... I have sound clips but don't have any idea how to upload them here!!![

Mike...

Here are the details

side 1 = X-2628-1 ?R.74512.A
side 2 = X2629.1RA.74512.B

Ok so, the mystery is this.... the '?' on side A is unreadable.
Between the X and the digits on side two there is no - (dash) mark.

This is bordering on Mathematics now... does this make the quest easier?

Paul

Based on the lower half of the label shot, the RA74512 looks like a phone number used in lieu of an account number for the manufacturing of the 45 - in the old days the first two digits of the local telephone exchange was commonly noted via two letters, followed by the third digit (a number from 1 to 9).
The X notes a California based pressing operation, will see if I can come up with more info over the weekend.

Upon first listen, I don't hear the "loser-inept moody garage" tag...but both songs are above average in my opinion, with 'Like The Way' being the better of the two. Thanks for sharing.

Green Fuzz.... these tracks are TOTAL Loser-inept garage.

'Let Me Tell You'.... is perfectly moody and inept, it's just not minor-keyed man... listen to the lyrics, the vibe of the song.... the playing, the crude production (check the massive drum sound that got mixed in near the middle).... apparently there is a inept guitar solo on said track at the end.

I agree 'Like The Way' is a totally more up-beat but still pretty inept in playing and production.

Making this 45 somewhat brilliant.... you have to take in all the factors.... UTAH for Joseph Smith's sakes... you can't have been anywhere squarer in the 60s... yet they produced this!!! an ultra hip 45 that no-one really knows about.
