BFTG 9, 10 and 11(!)

Now that the track list is out there...does anyone feel like there are songs that should have been included but weren't?

Kinda bummed, I was excited tim dubbed an acetate I had and thought it was gonna be on volume 11. Now I guess it's been relegated. (I refuse to type a sadface emoticon)

ARGHH!!! I've been waitin' more than 2 weeks now for that damn CD to arrive!:mad::mad:

I'M HURTIN' (MR. WARREN) CAN'T YOU SEE!!!

So... has BFTG 11 been shelved for good, or is Tim still planning on releasing it at some point in the future after all the dust settles from 9'n'10? I saw him saying on his FB a while back (before I deleted mine) that he wasn't totally pleased with the track selections for #11. I remember seeing "Funny Things Floating" by Sweet Cherry on the Vol 11 liner/artwork, before it was switched with the Vol. 10 cover. I also saw The Infinitives "Heidi" and The Thunderbirds "Hey Little Girl" on there...

I still don't even know the full track listing for 9 and 10! That's why I desperately want it already!!!:(

Hmm, I think I'd rather wait until the real thing arrives for me to see that;) I've waited this long, what's another few days...

Ehhh... I cracked! I looked:oops:

Surprised to see The Four More and The Starfyres in there! They never really seemed like BFTG worthy tracks in all honesty. But whatever. Everything else seems right.

I can't wait to receive my copy.

Vol. 9 (CD version) arrived yesterday. No doubt, it's the DEFINITE GARAGE SET (which hopefully doesn't mean "the Last" of the series), and if ever anybody should ask me what Garage stands for, I can play any of the tracks to him. Amazing sound quality indeed, a beautful booklet too, and great listening fun all the way through. The only downer is the rarety-rate: 15 out of 30 tracks have been comped before (or, at least, show up in my archive), and I don't complain about some tracks published at GHO or in this forum but I wonder why repeating tracks from Wyld Sides, Diggin for Gold, Quagmire, Lost in the 60s, Destination Frantic, HITM60s, Boulders, Let's Dig 'Em Up, Total Raunch, and Earpiercing Punk (Four More's Problem Child appears on 3 comps in my collection). Much better audio quality here? Maybe, and in some cases for sure (Ohio HITM60s, Boulders). Frankly I don't give a **** , after all, we're talking about punk, aren't we? and I would have preferred 15 acetates with lots of hiss and scratch but new to my ears...

Because those bands deserved a better treatment than they got by those comps you mentioned . They deserved their story been told , their picture shown , their record reproduced in the best possible sound and last but not least a little financial reward.

You guys have no idea what it takes to find songs "you've never heard before".
It took 20 years to be able to sift through decent, good and great songs, but to find those that Tim feels deserve BFTG enshrinement?

I'm so bored with / tired of people whinin' about "I've got that song on xyz compilation." Big deal. Good for you.

There are people who do not own every comp, or collect the original 45s, but they will make sure they grab Crypt label reissues, because nobody, and I mean NOBODY (Ace/BigBeat, Sundazed, even Norton) goes to as much trouble, hassle and effort that Tim does.

If it's a garage tune, and it is brought to the masses by Tim, it is damn worthy of a debut, or re-appearance.
So let's shut up once and for all about repeats.

yes, sure I've already been there enjoying it a lot (and burning my very private double set)... don't get me wrong, I really love BFTG9, sure I will spin it a lot, and I also second Mr. Splendid's and MTMs comments, specially while reading the booklet ... the point I wanted to express tho is, at the very end, the challenge for any collector / publisher is to dig up tunes never published before, or am I wrong? at any rate, I'm far from complaining only that my expectations where slightly different... (btw, I love the story of 15yo band members with their own private hairdresser.....)

I FINALLY received my copy today! :D

I personally have no complaints in terms of the repeats from other comps, which most people don't even have. I'm pretty sure once they buy these new BFTG's they won't even care about where some of these were already compiled! So I wouldn't even worry about that complaint line being too lengthy. I'm guessing some people were expecting a batch of complete "unknowns", but I figured this would be the case ultimately. Stuff that has already appeared on other compilations was going to be used. It's really not a big deal when you think about it. All of these tracks are (grave-worthy!)... and that's all that matters!

I've already played my CD about 6 times today and I'm very impressed with the sound quality, especially with tracks by "It's Them", "The Hard Times" and "The Expressions". The sound here is far superior to any release that has featured these before. It's really good to see and hear these songs on a BFTG where they rightfully belong, and not on some italian boot called "Let's Dig 'Em Up" or something.. :p

My only issue with this new grave was the inclusion of The Four More. That was the only track that surpised me, and not because of the overlap issue. If I have to be honest, and I will, I feel like many other tracks could have taken the place of that one. Even the one mentioned above by Mr. Segment, "J. Goon and the Belvederes - Beware" . Just a quick opinion, I'm sure it doesn't matter!

But then again, why bitch? Don't we have some new series on the way now with all those rejected BFTG sides and even a few unknowns? Seems like we'll be able to hear everything and anything that wasn't included on the new BFTG's there, so let's stop making a fuss and blast that crunch!

Thanks for my package TIM! It hurt waitin' 3 weeks, but oh so WORTH IT:sunny:

.. after 4th time listening each evening (and the booklet, too), i must APOLIGIZE for my stupid bitchin around from before (and I really dont care if track x had been ished on cmp y): I'll file BFTG9/10 for sure in the shelf of my FAve Comps ever (comp = compagnon)!

way ta walk it back my man:sunny: It's one'a the greatest cds/lps...EVER!!! The repeats blow away the versions on those other lame comps by a mile. I'm glad you came around, 'cause I was really close to blastin' ya...ha!:wtf: Just to finally have a clean version of Mr. Rolling Stone by the HARD TIMES is worth the price of admission.

I happen to love the song! I just didn't expect to see it on a BFTG volume in all honesty. But like somebody here already said, with a few listens, certain things that bugged you initially start to grow on you. That's BS though, because this CD/LP is worth every penny at the end of the day! I already ordered vinyl copies and look forward to having them.

My favorite cut out of those 30 was "Beware" by The Warlocks:cool: ... Wow!
