BFTG 9, 10 and 11(!)

Just for the record, as I had some time to kill, I reconstructed the tracklist for BFTG Vol. 9, 10 and 11 as they were initially planned at some point, as seen in these teasers posted in 2014:

I thought it might be fun to see what it could have been for those who were interested to know, especially about the shelved Vol. 11.

I hope you guys don't mind my revealing the secret, after all it was a long time ago and all the tracks were issued elsewhere!

Hey Al, I knew you were well in the know already by lookning at your contributions to Discogs.
I'm glad that I helped you out with some info, too.

PS. The REAL Back From The Grave 9 was really "The World Ain't Round, It's Square" of de Teenage Shutdown series.
WAY better than the nine or ten that followed.

Thanks! Yep this is a boss comp!! The Hearsemen's "I've Been Thinking" breaks the walls, only to mention this one!

Enjoyed the artwork of the cancelled BFTG volume though, too bad!

One of the rarest 45s on the BFTG series just sold on eBay for $6,625 which is possibly an all-time high price for a BFTG 45. I think Tim's BFTG10 liner notes probably point to the reason this 45 went so high.

I think it is one of the weaker songs Tim slotted for the comp. Richard Lewis won it.

It's funny, that tune grabbed me right away. I think it's absolutely fantastic and I'm glad he included it. Admittedly a bit out of place on a BFTG perhaps due to its soul/mod type of quotient, but it's a great track.

I can agree with both of the above statements. It IS one of the weaker '60s garage tracks on BFTG10, because of the mod/soul/pop quotient and comparitive lack of power/aggression for a BFTG 45. But it's also a great track with a couple of unusual hooks and chords, that I would love to own, but not for $6625. It really would be more suited to inclusion on a Nuggets comp. Congratulations to Richard Lewis (is he mod DJ Honky? If so, confirms Tim's liner note prediction).

Richard Lewis is the Mark Taylor equivalent for all collectible 45s. That means he is a super guy as well.. down to earth and friendly....met him a few times years back when I was djing and he invited me over to his place. Amazing collection..garage..soul...r&b...rockabilly..

Never woulda thought Caesar & His Romans coulda been on a Grave vol. I LOVE that track but it is 110% pure moody garage all the way
