BIG BEAT'S new 7" Garage 45 series will mess you up!!!

PS by the sound of the Denise clip it's a different and better mastering of the same take. Sounds more roomy and boomy to my ears (through the small computer speakers) Lookin forward!

The yellow label version has not been reissued anywhere, except maybe on a Forum comp by BossHoss.

The version on the Ace of Cups CD is the red label take with Denise's re-done vocal; track, she is more snotty on that version.

Aha! I don't have the cd - only the old Girls in the garage comp, where it sounds like a 10th generation cassette dub or something... It's been ages since I played said forum comp...

Bummeroo! I have the cd and thought for a second there an even rawer version existed! Will be cool to have on 45 though.

Funds being tight, as ever, I had to chose just one 45 from the initial batch of Ace 45s, and it had to be the Denise & Co. platter. It's just arrived and I am annoying the neighbours with it's snotty kick ass attitude! Yeah! I don't believe I have ever heard the yellow label version though... Denise tells me she is really looking forward to getting one too, she doesn't have a copy of either of the original releases.

I just received the 3 newly issued 45s from Alec P. at Big Beat - Red label Denise, Lawson & 4 More, and Zakary Thaks. I'm sure many of you already have these, or will shortly.

It's the first time I have actually compared the Red / Yellow label releases of the Denise 45. I'm pretty much shocked at how the Red label vocal blows the Yellow one, completely ...away!

At one known copy, the Red label Denise must surely be the rarest and most desirable '60s garage 45, again. It would certainly get my vote for #G1.

I'm also knocked out by the Zakary Thaks tune, "She's Got You". To have it released on an authentic looking and great sounding J-Beck repro label is fantastic.

Lawson & 4 More "Smart Bird" is also essential. I can only hope that more unearthed treasures will be issued / reissued in this format by Big Beat.

Wow! Wow! & Wow!

Agree completely. The Zakary Thaks tune is amazing. And the design of the 45s is really top notch. Works really well with the old-style outer sleeves & just a sticker. Hoping Big Beat will continue this series (of sorts)
