BILL TAYLOR Worried Mind on W. C. M. P. (West Coast Music Productions) out of Arcadia, Ca. Found this one today out in the wild. Killer 45. Kind of a cross between Dean Carter, Golliwogs, Animals with Lonnie Mack/Travis Wammack leads. Great!! Terrible crappy mid tempo country flip. Unknown?...you tell me.

I've done some research and the writer of both sides is J. Zaremba. His full name is Jerry Zaremba and he died 8 years ago. Turns out he played Eddie Cochran in the movie Buddy Holly Story. Also was in a 1979 TV movie called Hot Rod. Since he was a guitar player and wrote both sides he probably is playing guitar on the record. Since he's dead we will probably never know who Bill Taylor was/is. Could be Jerry's stage name. Has anyone seen this rekkid?

All I have found are very rockabillyish or Teen sounding. There were some more early 50's country
"Bill Taylors" I've not added.

Most of these sound like they could be the same guy singing. ...and Dean Carter sounds close to me.

Could it be the same guy?

This guy is most likely from Southern California. If it is Jerry Zaremba's stage name, it would be none of those.

I don't like the guitar at all. Since the flip is C&W it might suggest that this was a C&W guitarist who simply could not rock if his life depended on it.

This is definitely not any of the '50s Bill Taylors. Incidentally, the Bill Taylor on Flip/Sun, Starday, D ("William Tell Taylor"), and Fame ("Wild" Bill Taylor) are all the same person.

I'm pretty sure it's the only known copy. So you don't like the guitar but what about the rest of the song. I love the crude rhythm guitar.

Yep, you're probably right. Since I love so many types of music I don't always come from a garage band place when rating songs. I give the song a 7.5 on the Frantic-meter and a 6 on the Mop Top meter. Hey, do you guys want to hear the awful flip side HONG KONG FLU? It's hard to believe it's the same guy.
